Last Saturday I saw the movie Life of Pi and it was amazing! I've been looking forward to this movie for awhile now, although I haven't read the book yet. It was just as good as I expected it to be! The story is about a boy who's traveling to America with his family to sell his family's zoo animals in America. The ship taking them there gets caught in a storm and sinks, but he survives on a - along with a zebra, hyena, orangutan, and tiger. Most of the film is him and tiger trying to live on the lifeboat together.
The visuals in the film were incredible! I didn't see it in 3D, because I usually don't like 3D, but this movie definitely would've been good for it. They used a lot of CGI, but it all looks very realistic. The tiger was actually CGI, but it looked great! I heard they had to create every single strand of hair on the tiger! The effort put into this film really shows!
There was also a lot of emphasis on religion and spirituality. Pi practiced three religions (Hindu, Christianity, and Islam) in the movie, which I actually thought was really cool! I know that there's plenty of people who wouldn't agree with it, but everyone's different and has different reasons for their belief. I don't know if anyone actually practices more than one religion (I'm just Christian), but all the more power to them if they do. These are only my opinions though, not everyone has to agree and I completely understand that.
So, overall it was a great movie and I'm definitely buying it when it goes on DVD/Blu-Ray! Everyone should watch it! Whether you're religious or not, it's still an incredible and touching story!
In other news, I took my ACT test today. Not sure how that went, I hope I did good though. The proctor gave us only 29 minutes instead of 35 on the science part because he wasn't paying attention. That really made me upset because I didn't have time to finish and I was so close too! I should of said something, but I didn't. So, next time I will if it happens again.
This week has been really uneventful really. I've just been trying to finish homework and study for exams. I got my precipitant for a secret santa christmas party though! It turned out to be someone I really didn't expect, so I hope everything goes well!
That's about it for now! See you next time!
